Coeur CEO Lobbies in support of Free Trade Agreements

Posted: 10-05-2011

Lebanon, TN, October 5, 2011 – Jay Cude, President and CEO of Coeur, Inc, met with Congresswoman Diane Black (TN) and Congressman Tom Petri (WI) to advocate legislation authorizing the Free Trade Agreements with Korea, Columbia, and Panama. Coeur is an aggressive exporter of medical device technology with almost 30% of its product shipped abroad. Mr. Cude also briefed the Representatives and their staff on issues with foreign countries that use medical regulations as a barrier to free trade. This contrasts sharply with our own U.S. FDA who has been lax in approving foreign medical products for import into the U.S. market without demonstrating that they are made to the same high standards U.S. medical consumers take for granted. With Mr. Cude is Bill Carteaux, President and CEO of SPI.”
